A Linguistic Framework for Querying Dimensional Data

چکیده
This paper deals with dimensional data. Examples of dimensions are space and time. Thus, temporal, spatial, spatiotemporal values are examples of dimensional data. We define the notion of dimensional object, extending an object-oriented ODMG-like type system to include dimensional types. We then address the problem of querying dimensional objects. Linguistic constructs are introduced that allow objects with different dimensions to be mixed in the same phrases. This allows the user to formulate both associative and navigational accesses seamlessly without having to worry about the dimensions of the various data ele-

Developing a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information
With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...
متن کاملDiscontinuous Constituents: a Problematic Case for Parallel Corpora Annotation and Querying
In this paper, we discuss some linguistic phenomena that pose potential problems for multilevel linguistic annotation of parallel corpora in general and specifically for data encoding with state-of-art multilevel corpus querying tools such as CQP. We describe the strategy we use for integrating the standard hierarchical XML representation used to annotate such phenomena in our aligned bilingual...
متن کاملKnowledge-based Multimodal Data Representation and Querying
This paper focuses on the representation and querying of knowledge-based multimodal data. Our work stands in the multidisciplinary project OTIM (Tools for Multimodal Annotation) dedicated to the development of tools for multimodal annotation of french conversational data. OTIM aims at encoding and manipulating annotations from all the linguistic domains in an unique framework. Defining a data m...
متن کاملQuestion Answering over BioMedical Linked Data with Grammatical Framework
The blending of linked data with ontologies leverages the access to data. GFMed introduces grammars for a controlled natural language targeted towards biomedical linked data and the corresponding controlled SPARQL language. The grammars are described in Grammatical Framework and introduce linguistic and SPARQL phrases mostly about drugs, diseases and relationships between them. The semantic and...
متن کاملA Data Model for Fuzzy Linguistic Databases with Flexible Querying
Information to be stored in databases is often fuzzy. Two important issues in research in this field are the representation of fuzzy information in a database and the provision of flexibility in database querying, especially via including linguistic terms in human-oriented queries and returning results with matching degrees. Fuzzy linguistic logic programming (FLLP), where truth values are ling...
